Passionate & Traditional Academics

Cornerstone Christian Academy serves students from 3 years old through 12th grade. Our academic focus is on providing each student with an excellent education focused on traditional approaches and effective instruction. Key Academic Approaches:
  • We believe that as students learn more, they are learning more about God, His creation, and His world. This is why we are passionate about our students’ learning.
  • We believe in the power of reading. All students are expected to read a lot. This is why we have developed a wonderful library and our preschool and elementary students check books out each week. We also expect that every student is reading each night.
  • We believe in the power of textbooks to aid instruction. Each student receives a physical textbook to take home with them as needed. We also use Christian publishers that we trust.
  • We believe that mathematics are learned best with traditional techniques that teach students to be successful with multiplication and division without calculators. We believe that the mastery of basic skills will allow our students to be more successful with the more difficult topics they approach as they grow.

Music

All of our students participate in Music. We love music at our school because we love to sing about our God. We have music class for all our Preschool and Elementary classes. In Middle School our students begin band or chorus. We have programs and concerts that show our students’ developing skills.

Math Success

Our school had developed powerful approaches to helping students who struggle with Mathematics in the middle grades. Due to the adoption of ineffective methods of teaching mathematics by many common-core schools, we have Middle School students who enter our school without mastering the math fundamentals. We work with these students to see them succeed. This process includes hard work including homework and memorization. We also use online programs to identify weaknesses and provide practice of essential skills. We also offer a summer math intensive to provide support for these students. Based on this approach, our school is seeing significant gains in our students’ mathematical abilities.

Spanish

We have Spanish instruction start in the Elementary School at our school. Beginning in Kindergarten, students are challenged to learn Spanish as a part of our instruction.
